When the school year ends, the safety net of free school meals ends too. Food 4 Kids helps close this gap, providing free and nutritious meals Monday - Friday all summer for kids 18 and under.

Since 2013, Food 4 Kids has served over 405,000 free meals to local Cape children from from Harwich to Provincetown.

In 2025, we served 56,864! 10,000 more fresh lunches than 2024.

Exploration of capacity-expanding partnership

Food 4 Kids is exploring opportunities to expand capacity as community need continues to grow. In response to increasing demand across Cape Cod, we are in early conversations with partners about ways to sustainably scale our operations.=

One possibility under consideration is a collaboration with St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Chatham, which expressed interest in supporting the program after learning about our work last fall. Under this concept, Food 4 Kids would maintain program oversight while a local partner could potentially help support meal service in nearby communities.

With the support of our Board, leadership from The Church of the Holy Spirit and St. Christopher’s has begun exploring what a partnership model might look like. A volunteer steering committee at St. Christopher’s is forming to learn more about operations and assess how a smaller-scale, community-based approach could work.

The Summer 2026 season will serve as a learning opportunity, with volunteers observing and assisting at The Church of the Holy Spirit as we continue to evaluate possibilities for the future.

Your meals REALLY help with the bottom line for parents, who saves hundreds of dollars each summer utilizing your contributions. As the Cape has gotten more and more expensive, this effort makes a real difference for families just getting by.
